About the Role

Responsible for communicating and tracking status of material, tools and assemblies. Expedites materials and tools to meet maintenance schedule. Maintains ready-stock of consumables and perishable tools. Purchase quality goods and services in compliance with Aero Star cost controls, ethics and purchasing standards.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates and tracks status of material, tools and assemblies with training  management.  

  • Expedites material and tools to meet maintenance schedules.  

  • Ensures timely transportation of material and tools to assigned areas to meet  Maintenance Control needs.  

  • Report’s part shortages and works to replenish low stock by coordinating through  our material handlers, following established procedures.  

  • Performs tasks involved in the storing, ordering and transporting of material, parts, kits, tools and supplies to maintain fully-stocked Inventory.

  • Responsible for maintaining a ready-stock of consumables and perishable tools.

  • Responsible for the proper functioning of a Tool Service Tool Crib.

  • Maintains serialized and calibrated tools following all written procedures to  ensure metrology processes are followed.  

  • Maintains housekeeping 6S standards pursuant to established procedures.  

  • Partners with our material handlers to track, audit, optimize and process movement of materials, parts and tools.  

  • Performs some administrative tasks, as needed.  

  • Responsible for procuring Material demand through workflow process for in house MX work, off-Site workorders, and AOG’s.  

  • Purchase quality goods and services, in compliance with Aero Star cost controls, ethics, and purchasing standards.  

  • Receives and responds to material order requisitions and purchase orders to  provide and or / obtain information from vendors.  

  • Obtains proper approval authorization for purchase requisition processing and  converts material requests to purchase orders upon approval workflow. 

  • Reports on status of critical shipments and interfaces with suppliers to expedite  deliveries and resolve issues.  

  • Ensures compliance of purchase order requirements as to price, quality, quantity, delivery deadlines and compliance with Aero Star policies/ procedures.  


 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Two years of experience with managing tools and materials in an aviation environment.

  • Two plus years prior work experience in Aerospace purchasing and inventory control.  

  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA  regulations.  

  • Ability to follow and adhere to written and verbal instructions from management.  

  • Understands basics of Maintenance schedule and able to identify/rectify material demands and constraints.  

  • Proficient with common software (Microsoft Office, SAP, internet explorer, etc.). Ability to learn/operate Corridor Aviation Service Software.  

  • Must be able to perform basic IT tasks (screen setup, troubleshoot software/hardware connection issues, setup printers, etc.).  

  • May be required to use power moving equipment and tools, to include operating a forklift in the performance of duties. 

  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is a plus and will be taken into consideration when looking at experience.  


Education and Experience: 

  • Experience in aviation-related processes (FOD, Tool Control, 6S, Consumable Control).  Previous personnel management or leadership experience in an aircraft production  environment will be taken into consideration.  

  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing training a plus.  

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements  including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.

  • Employees performing the same job function for a period of 2 years or more are  considered qualified in the position, independent of the requirements referenced above  and need not supply evidence regarding school diplomas etc.


Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces. Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds at a time. Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects. Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of parts.

Nights: Mon-Fri Hours: 2:30 – 23:00  

Weekend: Thurs-Mon Hours: 10:00 – 20:30


Ability to commute/relocate: Dallas, TX 75209; Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
