About the Role

Responsible for planning and leading the work of aircraft mechanics; responsible for assuring the airworthiness of aircraft serviced by the Aero Star Aviation and for compliance with applicable federal regulations and guidelines; performs necessary repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance on aircraft; does related work as required. Responsible for providing a safe, reliable, on-time, airworthy aircraft in support of Aero Star customer requirements.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensures all work is accomplished in accordance with companies RSQCM, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations.

  • Provide leadership for team members by establishing, assigning, prioritizing, and tracking maintenance goals, objectives, and standards; assists team members with coordination of personnel and equipment task assignments to ensure goals and objectives are met.

  • Upon arrival of aircraft, makes sure that it is properly placed in the hangar, properly protected, and an incoming inspection of the aircraft is performed.

  • Maintains and services aircraft. Analyzes a variety of technical problems associated with aircraft maintenance, determines causes and methods of repair. Interprets technical manuals, blueprints, schematic diagrams, written and verbal information.

  • Create and manage performance improvement plans for maintenance personnel. As well as assign work that needs to be accomplished effectively and efficiently.

  • Tests operation and repairs/adjusts, as required: engines, engine controls and accessories, propellers and controls, landing gear, hydraulic systems and servicing, flight controls and adjusts rigging as required.

  • Checks and repairs fuel, oil, oxygen, heating, cooling and pressurization systems.

  • Provide on the job training instructions and information on job procedures, safety and good work practices.

  • Keep the Maintenance Director advised of problems that could result in work delays.

  • Take necessary action to ensure that maintenance personnel in his or her group are qualified to accomplish the duties assigned to them.

  • Efficiently utilize manpower, making possible adjustments in methods and perfection of procedures to provide continuous improvement in efficiency and increase of production.

  • Endeavor to increase his or her own knowledge by studying of technical material and study guides provided for that purpose.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable federal regulations and guidelines

  • Travels on road trips as required and is able to work unsupervised and handle any technical problem that may occur.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


 

Required Competencies - Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of five years corporate aircraft maintenance experience.

  • 3 years of Supervisory experience preferred

  • Must hold a current Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate.

  • Must pass security 10-year background check and random drug and alcohol tests.

  • Embraer Phenom 100/300 experience strongly desired.

  • Able to travel to other locations to perform maintenance (essential requirement)

  • Must have own tools necessary for job (essential requirement)

  • Participate in initial and random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with DOT and FAA guidelines (essential requirement)

  • Flexible work schedule required including shift, weekend, and holidays (essential requirement)

  • Valid Driver's License (essential requirement)

  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English


Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Based on experience

Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay
